‘ID’ tag General Information:
ID tag used for precast panel’s identification. The ID tag includes details about the precast panel like Job number, panel number, panel weight, level and site delivery date. It will help to identify the precast panel on the yard, site and also which level and where to install.
Type of ID tag:
- Cast in tag- This type of tag is mainly used and it’s cast in with precast panels.
- Loose tag – Loose tags are used for some cases like panel’s all sides are exposed and depend upon the panel finish. And also client or builder requirements. It will tie on ferrules or bars of the panel etc.
- Sticker – This type of tag is also provided depending upon the client requirements. It will stick on the precast panel faces or edges where possible.
Consideration of ID tag location on precast panel:
- ID tags not placed on exposed locations. If panels have all sides exposed,
- We place a tag on the slab rebate area. (Refer Fig 1)
- For single story short panels, a tag will be placed at the top edge (if the panel edge is covered)
- For double story panels, an ID tag is placed at the bottom of the panel.
It will help to identify the panel during transportation and also in the yard (Double story) the panel is stored in a horizontal position.(Refer Fig 2)
- If we placed an ID tag on the visible area, we have to patch the id location after installation and it’s more expensive.
